Box Score BETHANY, Okla. — The nets at Southwestern Christian might have to be taken down in case of a fire hazard after No. 16 Southern Nazarene lit them up for a second straight night as SNU notched its most lopsided win of the year at 113-46 over Kansas Wesleyan.
The Crimson Storm (8-2) have won eight of their last nine and have won two straight. SNU shot over 55 percent for the second straight night and the Storm were even hotter Saturday afternoon. SNU shot 65.3 percent (47-72) from the field and drained a season-high nine 3-pointers coming from seven different players.
SNU got double figures out of three of its starters and two of its reserves and were just a few rebounds and a point short of a three double-doubles.
Ryan Aaron scored 19 of his game-high 23 points in the first half. He was 10-for-12 from the field and had an array of dunks on the night. He added eight rebounds and six assists.
Tyrone Lyons scored a career-high 17 points and posted nine rebounds and three assist.
Daniel White chipped in with 15 points, five rebounds and two assists while
Jon West had 12 points, four rebounds and five assists.
Horace McGloster as also just a point short of a double with nine to go with his 10 board and six assists.
Aaron Jones notched a career high with 13 points as he buried three treys on the night.
SNU scored 70 of its points in the paint compared to just 26 from Kansas Wesleyan. The Storm also scored 19 points off of 16 Coyote turnovers and outscored the KWU bench 51-11.
Southern Nazarene opened the game with a 21-5 run and were up 46-19 with just five minutes left. McGloster closed out the first half with a bucket in the paint that also capped a 19-5 run as SNU took a 65-24 lead into intermission.
The Storm kept the foot on the gas to start the second half as SNU scored the first 14 points in the half and held the Coyotes scoreless for more than five minutes.
It was the most points scored in a single game for an
Adam Bohac coached team and the most since 2006 when SNU scored 114 against Ozark Christian. The mark falls third on the all-time list behind the 2006 mark and 150-point game back in the 1994-95 season against National Christian.
SNU will now take a break away from games for the Christmas break, but will return back to the Sawyer Center, Dec. 29, for the final non-conference game of the season against Dallas Christian at 6 p.m.
