Box Score BOURBONNAIS, Ill. — Daniel White scored a career-high 21 points for No. 18 Southern Nazarene in a 72-67 win over MidAmerica Nazarene.
The Crimson Storm (3-1) won their third straight game and moved into the finals of Thanksgiving Nazarene Classic for the third straight year.
White was 7-of-14 from the field and 7-of-10 at the free-throw line. He also pulled in three rebounds and two assists.
Ryan Aaron scored 15 points off the bench and added five rebounds as he was 7-for-10 from the field.
SNU shot 44.4 percent from the floor (28-63) and were 73.7 percent (14-19) from the charity stripe.
Horace McGloster notched his second double-double of the year with 13 points and 11 rebounds while
Jon West posted 10 points and five boards. McGloster also had two steals and three blocks.
SNU out rebounded the Pioneers (5-4) 41-34 and outscored the MNU bench 24-17.
MidAmerica Nazarene scored the first five points of the game, but after SNU answered with an 11-2 run capped by a White layup, the Storm never trailed again. The Storm led 22-21 with 5:48 left in the half when
Tyrone Lyons sparked a 13-0 run to give SNU a 35-21 lead with 47 seconds left and then took a 35-23 lead into intermission.
SNU held its biggest lead of the game at 54-36 with 13:23 left to play and were up 68-54 with 3:18 remaining when MNU closed the game to 70-64 with a 10-2 run with eight seconds left. White pushed the lead back out to 71-64 with a free throw, but the Pioneers buried a 3-pointers to make it a 4-point game at 71-67 before White hit another free throw to put it away.
The Crimson Storm will now go for their second straight Thanksgiving Nazarene Classic title when they play Trevecca Nazarene, Saturday, at 1 p.m.
