Box Score

BETHANY, Okla. — One of the goals that Southern Nazarene set at the beginning of the season was to have a balanced attack. It doesn't get much more balanced than all 10 players that played having scored at least two points, grabbing at least one rebound and all but two had at least one assist in a 71-48 win at cross-town foe Southwestern Christian.

The Crimson Storm (8-1) got a game-high 14 points from Logan Martin who also notched four rebounds and a team-high five assists. She also went 7-for-8 from the line. Abbey Marra continued to rack up double-doubles as she scored 12 points and recorded a game-high 11 rebounds for sixth of the year.

Jamie Bottger and Marsha Durr each added nine points while Kristin Milster scored eight.

SNU shot 41.7 percent from the field (25-60) and were 78.9 percent (15-19) from the charity stripe. The Storm held the Eagles to just a 19-for-60 (.317) performance from the floor and allowed SWCU to hit one shot from outside all night. SNU nearly doubled Southwestern's points in the paint at 28-16. SNU also scored 12 points on second-chance buckets and did not allow an offensive put back all night.

The Eagles held early leads twice, but after a 14-4 run by SNU gave the Storm a 22-12 lead with 6:36 left in the half, it was all Southern Nazarene from there. SNU led 24-16 with 5:31 left in the fist half and closed 12-3 run to lead 36-19 at intermission.

The Storm raced out to a 40-19 lead early in the second half, but SWCU cut the lead again to 42-30, with 12:09 left, with an 11-2 run and were down 56-44 with 4:32 left, but that was as close the Eagles came. SNU closed out the game in convincing fashion with a 15-4 run and held Southwestern to just two field goals in the final 4:30.

SNU will now break for finals week next week and will return to the floor Dec. 29 for a 4 p.m. non-conference game when they host Madonna (Mich.).
