Storm Swept in Doubleheader at Southwestern Oklahoma State

Southern Nazarene drops 15-3 and 4-1 decisions as SWOSU rallies late to complete the series sweep in Weatherford

WEATHERFORD, Okla. - The Crimson Storm wrapped up their three-game series against Southwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday afternoon, dropping both games of the doubleheader falling 15-3 and 4-1.

Game 1
Southern Nazarene (4-17, 0-12 GAC) finished the weekend series against Southwestern Oklahoma State (14-9, 6-6 GAC) but could not slow the Bulldogs offense as the Storm were swept in the three-game set.

In game one of the doubleheader, the Storm jumped on the board first in the opening inning. Cade Ross reached base and later scored on an RBI from Kane Springer to give SNU a 1-0 lead.

Southern Nazarene added another run in the second when Braden Pingel reached base and eventually scored on a wild pitch to push the Storm in front 2-1.

Southwestern Oklahoma State answered in the bottom of the second with a big inning, scoring five runs to take a 6-2 lead. The Bulldogs continued to add to their advantage with two more runs in the third before breaking the game open with a seven-run fourth inning.

The Storm picked up one more run in the fourth when James Bodine delivered an RBI double to score Pingel, but SNU could not close the gap as the Bulldogs secured the 15-3 win.

Pingel scored twice for the Storm while Bodine recorded a double and an RBI.
