Storm Drop Series Opener at Ouachita Baptist

Second game of the doubleheader suspended due to lack of daylight and will resume Saturday

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Crimson Storm opened their road series on Friday afternoon against Ouachita Baptist falling 14–4 in the series opener.

Southern Nazarene (4-18, 0-13 GAC) struck first in the top of the opening inning. Cade Ross singled up the middle and later scored when Kane Springer delivered an RBI single to center field to give the Storm a 1-0 lead.

Ouachita Baptist (11-10, 6-7 GAC) answered quickly in the bottom of the first. David Bull launched a two-run home run to left field to put the Tigers in front 2-1.

The Tigers continued to build their lead over the next few innings, adding two runs in the second and another in the third to stretch the advantage to 5-1.

Southern Nazarene picked up another run in the fourth inning. Braden Pingel reached base and moved into scoring position before coming home on a sacrifice fly from Aiden McCullough to cut the deficit to 5-2.

Ouachita Baptist responded again in the bottom half of the inning and later put together a four run sixth inning to extend the lead to 10-2. The Tigers added four more runs in the eighth to pull away late.

The Storm added two runs in the eighth inning after drawing multiple walks. Trevyn Stewart and Dominic Garcia each brought in runs to make it 10-4 before Ouachita answered in the bottom of the inning to secure the 14-4 win.

Josh Bay led Southern Nazarene with two hits, including a double. Springer finished with an RBI, while Stewart and Garcia also recorded RBIs in the loss.

Next Up
Southern Nazarene will resume game two Saturday at noon, starting in the eighth inning, before playing the final game of the series.
