Crimson Storm Down Southeastern in Durant

Men's Basketball dominate the Savage Storm on the road, 70-49

DURANT, Okla. - Southern Nazarene University delivered a solid performance Thursday night, cruising to a 70-49 Great American Conference road victory over Southeastern Oklahoma State.

Southern Nazarene (20–7, 14–7 GAC) controlled the game from the opening tip, racing out to a 37–15 halftime lead behind a stifling defensive effort. The Crimson Storm held the Savage Storm (8-19,7-14 GAC) to just 27.8 percent shooting in the first half and limited them to 14 points in the paint for the game.

SNU never trailed and pushed the margin to as many as 23 points in the second half, maintaining control with balanced scoring and a dominant presence on the glass. The Storm outrebounded Southeastern 35-30 and turned 12 Savage Storm turnovers into 16 points.

Baron Bracey led the way with 12 points and 10 rebounds to secure a double-double, adding two assists and a steal. Tracy Godfrey Jr. chipped in nine points and four rebounds, while James Burries provided a spark off the bench with 10 points on 3-of-5 shooting and a perfect 3-for-3 mark from the free-throw line.

Joe Mpoyo added nine points, and Malik Edwards stuffed the stat sheet with eight points and five assists. Brady Cook contributed eight points, knocking down a pair of three-pointers to help stretch the lead.

As a team, Southern Nazarene shot 49.2 percent from the field and held Southeastern to just 38.9 percent shooting. The Storm also dominated inside, scoring 38 points in the paint and receiving 35 points from the bench.
