BETHANY, Okla. - The Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm delivered a dominant defensive performance and never trailed Saturday afternoon, rolling to a 74–56 victory over the Henderson State Reddies inside the Sawyer Center.
Southern Nazarene (19–7, 13–7 GAC) set the tone from the opening possession, forcing turnovers and converting them into quick points to build a commanding early advantage. The Storm held Henderson State (10-16,7-13 GAC) to just 25 percent shooting in the first half and carried a 35–15 lead into the break.
SNU continued to control the tempo in the second half, maintaining a double-digit cushion throughout and leading by as many as 29 points. The Storm capitalized on Henderson State miscues all afternoon, scoring 27 points off turnovers while adding 15 fast-break points.
Tracy Godfrey Jr. led the Storm offensively with 12 points, knocking down six free throws and adding three assists. Baron Bracey recorded a double-double for the second straight game with 11 points and 10 rebounds while also tallying three steals.
Malik Edwards added 11 points, four assists, and three steals, and Bam Johnson finished with 10 points and four assists. Colby Henderson provided steady play with eight points and a game-high seven assists.
As a team, Southern Nazarene shot 45.6 percent from the field and held Henderson State to just 40 percent shooting. The Storm also controlled the glass with a 35–27 rebounding advantage and forced 24 turnovers in the win.
