Storm Pick Up Win Over Ouachita Baptist

Southern Nazarene controlled the game from the start and secured the 69-53 victory behind a career-high 23-point performance from Jillian Crawford

BETHANY, Okla. - Southern Nazarene delivered a strong all-around performance Thursday evening, defeating Ouachita Baptist 69-53 in the Sawyer Center.

The Crimson Storm (9-14, 9-10 GAC) set the tone early, building a first-half lead behind efficient shooting and strong defensive pressure. SNU opened the game on a run and carried a 39-26 advantage into halftime after controlling the pace through the opening two quarters.

Southern Nazarene maintained command after the break, holding the Tigers (12-11, 9-10 GAC) at bay despite a third-quarter push. The Crimson Storm sealed the victory in the final period with clutch free throws and key stops, stretching the lead to as many as 23 points down the stretch to secure the home win.

Jillian Crawford delivered a career-high performance, leading the Storm with a game-high 23 points while shooting 7-of-13 from the field, 2-of-3 from beyond the arc, and 7-of-8 at the free-throw line. She added three rebounds in 36 minutes of action to headline the dominant outing.

Halyn Browning provided a huge spark off the bench, finishing with 10 points, six assists, and a career-high six steals helping orchestrate the offense during critical stretches. Hannah Duncan added nine points and five rebounds, while Shannon Burton also chipped in nine points and three assists as the Storm showcased a balanced scoring effort.

Southern Nazarene finished the contest shooting 49 percent from the field and forced 16 turnovers, converting them into 22 points while dominating the paint with 34 points inside to help secure the 69-53 victory at home.
