Rangers Roll Past Storm in Enid

SNU drops road matchup to NWOSU 7-2

ENID, Okla. - Southern Nazarene hit the road Tuesday afternoon for a midweek matchup in Endi, Oklahoma with Northwestern Oklahoma State, but the Rangers took a 7-2 win over the Crimson Storm.

SNU (9-29, 3-22 GAC) came out swinging in the first inning, wasting no time getting on the board. Blake Brinkmeyer reached on an error by the Rangers (26-14,13-11 GAC) pitcher that helped push Brady Benedict across the plate for an early 1-0 lead.

Northwestern Oklahoma State didn't take long to answer, plating three runs in the third inning, then followed it up with two more in the fourth to jump ahead 5-1.

The Crimson Storm defense locked in for the next couple of innings, keeping NWOSU scoreless through the fifth and sixth inning.

The Rangers got back on the board in the seventh with two more runs, extending their lead to 7-1.

In the eighth inning Benedict reached on an error and Hicks moved up on a passed ball. Brinkmeyer then came through again with a double to left, bringing Hicks home and making it 7-2. That was as close as the Storm would get as Northwestern closed it out from there, securing the 7-2 win over Southern Nazarene in Enid.
