SNU Swept by ECU in Ada

SNU’s early offense falls short as East Central takes the series sweep

ADA, Okla. -  Southern Nazarene finished up their three-game series against East Central, dropping the final two games 8-7 and 9-6 as the Tigers grabbed the series sweep.

Game 1
The Storm (9-28, 3-21 GAC) came out swinging in game one, putting up four runs in the first. Cade Ross got things started with an RBI single to right center. With the bases loaded, Tucker Lemay was hit by a pitch to bring in another run.
Sebastian Figga followed with a two run RBI single to left, giving Southern Nazarene a 4-0 lead.

East Central (11-26, 7-17 GAC) answered right back with four runs of their own in the bottom half to tie things up. The Tigers then took control in the second with three more runs to go up 7-4.

SNU chipped away in the sixth inning as Antonio Sabala doubled in Aiden McCullough to make it 7-5.

In the ninth inning, Chase Hudson delivered a clutch single to left center, driving in two runs to tie the game at 7-7. ECU came through in the bottom half of the inning with the winning run to take game one 8-7.

Game 2
The Tigers jumped ahead early with two runs before Southern Nazarene responded in the third inning. Brady Benedict singled home a run, followed by an RBI single from Hicks. Hudson came through again with a two run double to give the Storm a 4-2 lead.

That lead didn't last long though, as East Central put up five runs in the bottom of the inning and two more in the fourth to make it 9-4.

The Crimson Storm  added a pair of runs in the seventh as Tanner Bare singled in Ryan Talley, and Benedict hit a sac fly to score Figga. The Storm kept fighting, but the Tigers held on to win 9-6 and secure the series sweep over Southern Nazarene.
