PIEDMONT, Okla. -  Southern Nazarene kicked off their three game series against East Central, taking the field at Piedmont High School. The Storm couldn't hold off the Tigers' hot bats, falling 13-2 in the series opener.

East Central (9-26, 5-17 GAC) came out swinging, striking first in the opening inning with a pair of runs to grab a 2-0 lead. They kept the pressure on in the second, adding four more to stretch the lead to 6-0.

SNU (9-26, 3-19 GAC) found a bit of momentum in the third.m as Antonio Sabala got things going with a single to left. Brady Benedict followed, working a walk to load the bases. 

Weston Hicks then hit a sac fly to center, bringing in Aiden McCullough and getting the Storm on the board at 6-1.

The Tigers responded quickly, adding two more in the fourth to push the lead to 8-1. ECU then exploded for five runs on four hits in the fifth, extending their lead to 13-1.

The Storm added one more run in the sixth. Jaxon Gless was hit by a pitch and later scored after an RBI single from Blake Brinkmeyer. East Central held on from there, taking the 13-2 run-rule win over Southern Nazarene to open the series.
