SNU Falls to Southeastern Oklahoma State at Feland Field

SE takes midweek matchup against the Crimson Storm

BETHANY, Okla. -  Southern Nazarene hosted Southeastern Oklahoma State in a midweek matchup at Feland Field on Tuesday afternoon. Despite a strong offensive showing the Crimson Storm came up short as the Savage Storm pulled away for a 20-13 win.

It did not take long for things to get going in Bethany. Southeastern Oklahoma State (18-28,13-17 GAC) jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the top of the first, but SNU (9-38, 3-28 GAC) wasted no time firing back. Chase Hudson ripped a two run single to right center, followed by an RBI from Cade Ross. Ryan Talley came up with a clutch RBI single to give the Crimson Storm a 5-2 lead after just one inning.

The momentum did not last long though, as the Savage Storm exploded for 10 runs in the second inning to swing the game in their favor. The Crimson Storm tried to chip away at the 12-5 deficit in the bottom of the second when Ross hit a two run double to left center, closing the gap to 12-7.

The Savage Storm added another run in the third, but SNU kept the fight alive with a sac fly from Brady Benedict to make it 13-8. SE kept applying pressure scoring again in the fourth to extend their lead, but SNU responded with a two run single up the middle from Aiden McCullough, making it 14-10.

Both teams kept trading runs, but Southeastern Oklahoma State stayed a few steps ahead the rest of the way. Despite some late efforts, the Crimson Storm could not  catch up and fell to the Savage Storm by a final score of 20-13.
