Crimson Storm Take Series Over No. 19 Harding

Southern Nazarene picks up a tough series win over the Bisons

BETHANY, Okla. - The Crimson Storm finished off their series with the No. 19 Bisons Friday afternoon. The Storm took the doubleheader sweep to claim the series over Harding.

Game 1

Janie Worthington got the go in the circle throwing a nearly flawless game. The Storm (28-20, 17-12 GAC) did not strike until the third inning after a solo shot from Hailey Evans kicked things off. SNU then plated one more on a double steal to extend their lead to 2-0. The Crimson Storm then added another run after a Bisons (36-14, 19-11 GAC) error to lead 3-0.

That was all the scoring in the contest as it became a pitcher's duel from there. Worthington allowed just two hits while throwing a complete game shutout to give SNU the game-one win and even the series.

Game 2

Kelsi Hiton got the start for the series finale as she tossed two scoreless innings for the Storm. The Bisons struck in the third looking to take the series after a wild pitch plated one run.

The Crimson Storm found their response in the bottom half of the inning after a clutch single from Kristen Mullendore tied the score at 1-1. Southerland then laid down a sac bunt and reached on an error to plate another run to give SNU the lead. Eden Anderson kept the scoring going with a two-run double to extend the Storm lead to 4-1.

Hilton continued to dominate in the circle blanking the Bisons in the fourth and fifth innings. Harding was able to plate a run thanks to an RBI double to cut the deficit to two.

Worthington checked back in to finish off the contest securing the Crimson Storm's 4-2 victory and the series.
