Crimson Storm Falls to Oklahoma Christian

Storm tries to battle back but fall to Eagles

EDMOND, Okla. - The Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm traveled to Edmond for a midweek matchup against Oklahoma Christian University. It was a tough outing for SNU, as they fell 20-9 to the Eagles in seven innings.

The Eagles (7-18, 6-18 LSC) wasted no time getting on the scoreboard in the bottom of the first, plating two runs to take a 2-0 lead. They extended that advantage in the second with three runs off four hits, pushing their lead to 5-0. The Storm (7-19, 3-12 GAC)  still struggled to find an offensive rhythm as the Eagles handed them another scoreless frame.

In the top of the fourth, the Crimson Storm came alive. Blake Brinkmeyer walked, followed by a double to center by Jaxon Gless, bringing Brinkmeyer home. Chase Hudson drew a walk and Ryan Talley reached first on an error by the pitcher, advancing the runners.
Cade Ross was hit by a pitch and the Storm was on the board again. Southern Nazarene kept chipping away, with a wild pitch allowing more runs to score. A sac fly from Aiden McCullough brought in another run and Brady Benedict singled to center, making it 5-5, as the Storm tied the game up.

Oklahoma Christian responded in a big way in the bottom of the fourth. The Eagles erupted for 11 runs off nine hits, taking a commanding 16-5 lead.

SNU fought back in the top of the fifth.  Hudson had a homerun to left and the Storm followed with a rally. Talley singled, Ross walked, and Tucker LeMay walked to load the bases. McCullough delivered with a two run single and the Storm managed to score four more runs to cut the lead to 16-9.

However, the Eagles weren't done. In the bottom of the sixth, Oklahoma Christian added four more runs off two hits, extending their lead to 20-9, securing the run-rule victory over the Crimson Storm.
