Tigers Take Series Over Storm at Feland Field

SNU secures a dominant Game 2 win, but Ouachita Baptist claims the series with two run-rule victories

BETHANY, Okla. - The Crimson Storm took on the Ouachita Baptist Tigers in a three-game series at Feland Field this weekend, with the Tigers securing the series win, 2-1.

Game 1

Friday's opener didn't get far before it was suspended due to high winds. The teams picked up where they left off on Saturday, but things didn't go SNU's (7-18, 3-12 GAC)nway as Ouachita Baptist (11-14, 8-17 GAC) rolled to a 16-3 run rule victory.

The Tigers wasted no time, putting up three runs in the top of the first.

SNU tried to answer back, with Antonio Sabala singling to center field before Brady Benedict launched a two run bomb to even the score. Weston Hicks followed up with a solo shot, tying it up 3-3 after one.

Unfortunately, that was the last time SNU would cross the plate. Ouachita Baptist steadily tacked on runs every inning, closing the game out in dominant fashion to take the 16-3 win.

Game 2

The Crimson Storm came out in game two ready to flip the script with a 10-0 run rule victory of their own. Christian Garcia was lights out on the mound, allowing just two hits in a complete game shutout.

SNU's offense got rolling early and never let up. In the first inning, Trey Orman's sac fly put the Storm on the board before Ryan Talley singled in two more runs to make it 3-0. The second inning saw Jaxon Gless double in a run, followed by Orman launching a two run home run to extend the lead to 6-0.

Orman wasn't done yet, sending another three run shot over the fence in the fourth to make it 9-0.

SNU capped off the dominant performance in the fifth when Weston Hicks' sac fly brought home one last run, sealing the 10-0 win and tying up the series.

Game 3

With the series on the line, the Tigers responded in Game 3 with another run rule win, taking down SNU 13-1.
Ouachita Baptist kept their offense rolling, scoring in every inning except one.

SNU's one run came in the sixth when Brady Benedict grounded into a double play, allowing Case Ross to cross the plate. But it wasn't enough, as the Tigers closed out the series with another convincing win.

Next Up

The Crimson Storm will travel to Edmond, Oklahoma to take on Oklahoma Christian for a single game on Tuesday, March 8 at 5:00 pm.
