No. 15 Crimson Storm Down The Bisons in Bethany

The Crimson Storm pick up their ninth win in a row after defeating Harding, 86-83

BETHANY, Okla. - The No. 15 ranked Crimson Storm hosted the Harding Bisons for a rematch inside the Sawyer Center. After handing SNU their only conference loss of the season, the Storm was able to get their revenge, taking down Harding, 86-83.

The SNU (18-2,15-1 GAC) offense remained lethal as they shot 52.5 percent from the field and 50 percent from three point range. The Bisons (14-8,10-6 GAC) were not far behind as they shot 50.8 percent from the field.

The Storm wasted no time jumping out to an early 13-4 lead thanks to the duo of James Burries and Stevie Strong. Timur Krupalija got in on the scoring, collecting a pair of buckets in the paint. Strong followed with back-to-back threes to extend the SNU lead to 25-13.

Bam Johnson then added to the Crimson Storm score with a pair of layups helping maintain the SNU lead. The Bisons slowly chipped away before they exploded for a 14-0 run to lead the Storm with 3:53 left in the first half.

The two squads traded points from there, but Southern Nazarene got the final say as Tracy Godfrey Jr. added one more bucket to give SNU a 41-40 lead at the halftime break.

Harding opened the second half with a three to take back the lead, before SNU responded, tying the score. Jeremey Golson got hot from beyond the arc knocking down two dagger threes to put SNU in front by five.

The Crimson Storm continued to work in the paint as Godfrey Jr. tacked on a bucket. The Bisons lingered before tying at 62 all with 10:18 left to play. A Harding three sparked a small run, giving them a 70-66 lead.

Colby Henderson and Strong teamed up for a pair of threes to take back the lead with just under seven minutes left on the clock. The Storm maintained their lead as Golson knocked down another three pushing the deficit to six.

The Bisons began to foul in hopes of creating a comeback. The Crimson Storm were nails at the charity stripe securing the 86-83 victory inside the Sawyer Center.
