Crimson Storm Cruise Past the Riverhawks

No. 20 Southern Nazarene picks up their first road win this season, 91-71

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — Southern Nazarene continued its unbeaten start to the 2025–26 campaign on Friday night, powering past Northeastern State 91–71 handing the Riverhawks their first loss of the season.

The Crimson Storm (4-0, 0-0 GAC) used a dominant second half and a powerful interior attack to pull away from the Riverhawks (3-1, 0-0 MIAA), outscoring NSU 56–38 after the break while shooting a blistering 68.9% from the field in the final 20 minutes.

Tracy Godfrey Jr. anchored SNU's strong offensive showing, delivering 21 points on 7-of-10 shooting while grabbing a game-high 11 rebounds.

Baron Bracey followed with another standout performance, piling up 19 points and getting to the foul line frequently, finishing 13-of-14 from the stripe. The senior guard added eight rebounds and four assists as he orchestrated the Storm's second-half surge.

Malik Edwards and Bam Johnson each added 14 points, providing efficient scoring across all levels. Edwards knocked down six of his 12 attempts from the floor, while Johnson posted a steady 7-of-8 night in the paint. James Burries supplied instant offense off the bench with 13 points, including three makes from beyond the arc.

After taking a narrow 35–33 lead into halftime, SNU broke the game open with a 20-of-29 shooting clinic in the second half. The Storm also won the rebounding battle 38–35 and forced timely turnovers that helped fuel transition buckets.

Colby Henderson battled on the glass for six rebounds and two steals, while Aaron Potter chipped in six points and provided another steady defensive effort off the bench.
