Crimson Storm Handle the Eagles at Home

Southern Nazarene Volleyball picks up non-conference win over Oklahoma Christian, 3-1

BETHANY, Okla. — Southern Nazarene snapped its three match skid in dominant fashion Tuesday night, earning a 3-1 victory over Oklahoma Christian and handing the Eagles their third straight loss.

The Crimson Storm (6-13, 1-6 GAC) showed renewed energy and efficiency, especially at the service line and net, outpacing Oklahoma Christian (10-7, 2-4 LSC) with 10 aces and 9 blocks while hitting .204 as a team.

SNU set the tone early, taking the opening set 25-15 behind a balanced attack featuring early kills from Kate Wright and Isabella Labrada. The Storm's aggressive serving disrupted OC's rhythm, building a comfortable lead they never relinquished.

In the second set, SNU continued to roll, securing another 25-20 win as Wright and Jaidyn Reid combined for key kills down the stretch. Though the Eagles briefly closed the gap, Hannah Morgan's timely ace and steady back-row play from Megan Branson helped the Storm maintain control.

Oklahoma Christian responded in the third with a 25-18 win, capitalizing on SNU attack errors to extend the match. Despite the setback, the Storm regrouped quickly.

The fourth frame showcased SNU's resilience. Wright and Labrada powered the offense, while Riley Richardson anchored the front line with crucial blocks. A late surge pushed the Storm ahead, sealing the match 25-23.

Wright led the Storm with 16 kills, while Labrada and Reid added nine apiece. Branson anchored the defense with 19 digs, followed by Avery Ramos and Reid with 14 each. Brelee Mauldin guided the offense with 37 assists.
