BETHANY, Okla. — Southern Nazarene turned in one of its most complete performances of the season on Tuesday evening, sweeping Arkansas-Monticello 3-0 inside the Sawyer Center to notch its second straight home victory.
The Crimson Storm (7-13, 2-6 GAC) controlled the match from start to finish, showcasing sharp execution on both sides of the ball while holding the Blossoms (3-16, 0-8 GAC) to just a .047 hitting percentage. SNU's offense clicked at a .316 mark, fueled by a balanced attack and strong presence at the net.
SNU wasted no time setting the tone in the opening set, racing to a 25-14 win behind early kills from Kate Wright and Isabella Labrada. The Storm's defense stifled UAM, forcing errors and capitalizing in transition to build early separation.
The momentum carried into the second frame as SNU secured a 25-13 victory. Jaidyn Reid and Wright ignited another offensive surge, while Brelee Mauldin orchestrated the attack. The Storm's service pressure kept the Blossoms off balance, creating easy scoring opportunities at the net.
In the final set, the Blossoms made a push, but SNU stayed steady, closing out the sweep with a 25-22 win. Labrada and Riley Richardson came up with timely plays at the net, and Megan Branson anchored the back row with key digs to fend off UAM's late rally.
Wright led all hitters with 17 kills, while Reid and Labrada chipped in five and four, respectively. Mauldin finished with 24 assists while Branson led the defense with 19 digs, followed by. Richardson posted a match-high five blocks to pace SNU at the net.
