Crimson Storm Compete in Owen Hewett Invitational

SNU Track and Field post strong performances across multiple events

NORMAN, Okla. – The Southern Nazarene University Men's and Women's Track and Field teams made the short trip to Norman on Saturday morning to compete in the Owen Hewett Invitational, marking their third meet of the season.

The Men's 200 Meter Open saw sophomore Terrance Green finish 6th with a time of 23.21. Josh Montelongo secured 11th place with a time of 23.50, while sophomore Jessiah Burris came in 17th with a time of 23.77.

In the Men's 400 Meter Invite, junior Maximus Washington placed 6th with a time of 51.56.

The Men's 800 Meter Open featured several strong finishes for the Crimson Storm. Junior Andres Young claimed 3rd place with a time of 2:01.48, while freshman Riley Patton followed closely in 4th with a time of 2:01.56. Sophomore Austin Miller finished 5th at 2:01.78. Sophomore Kayden Chaparro came in 11th with a time of 2:07.16, and freshman Rayman Sanabria finished 12th at 2:07.57.

Sophomore Daniel Ponce earned 3rd place in the Men's Mile Open with a time of 4:33.02, while senior William Ramirez followed in 5th at 4:37.54.

In the Men's 60 Meter Hurdles Open Finals, Jo'Quan Howard took 3rd place with a time of 9.10. Sophomore Brendan Cravens placed 6th at 9.42, freshman Korbyn Asencio came in 7th at 9.44, and freshman Karson Hetherington finished 8th with a time of 9.53.

Cravens also placed 9th in the Men's High Jump Open with a mark of 1.88m.

In the Men's Long Jump Open, sophomore Jessiah Burris placed 7th with a mark of 6.45m, while Cravens followed in 8th with a mark of 6.44m.

In the Women's Mile Open, junior Isabel Lynch placed 6th with a time of 5:37.70, while senior Elora Jones finished 13th at 5:51.30.

Sophomore Ivy Brennan earned 6th place in the Women's High Jump Open with a mark of 1.55m.

Freshman May Pachner had an impressive day  in the Women's Pole Vault, securing 3rd place with a mark of 3.65m.

In the Women's Shot Put Open, junior Abriel Thrash placed 4th with a mark of 11.56m, while senior Eve Brennan finished 5th with a mark of 11.50m. Brennan also took 3rd place in the Weight Throw Open with a mark of 14.92m.

The Storm will travel to Pittsburg, Kansas for the Rumble in the Jungle hosted by Pitt State University.
