SNU Competes in Mustang Derby

Storm Cross Country competes in second meet of the season in Wichita Falls


WICHITA FALLS, TX. - The Southern Nazarene University Men's and Women's Cross Country teams traveled to Wichita Falls, Texas Thursday afternoon for a two-event meet hosted by Midwestern State.

The women's team kicked things off as they finished sixth out of eleven teams in the Women's 4K.

Kelsi Hiton led the Crimson Storm once again with a 23rd place finish and a time of 15:15.0. Junior Isabel Lynch followed close behind finishing 31st with a time of 15:39.9, while senior Elora Jones came in next for SNU at 49th place with a time of 16:41.7. 

The Crimson Storm men followed the women's race and had a good showing finishing 3rd out of 8 teams in the Men's 6k race. 

Senior William Ramirez paced the Crimson Storm collecting a ninth-place finish out of 73 runners with a time of 20:02.8 in the men's 6K. Sophomore Aiden Hoover finished in 14th place with a time of 20:22.2, and Kayden Chaparro followed close behind finishing 16th with a time of 20:24.9. 

SNU Cross Country will be back in action on Saturday, September 28th when they head to the Chile Pepper Festival hosted by The University Of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
