Southern Nazarene XC Continues Season at Southern Stampede

JOPLIN, Mo.- Southern Nazarene continued their 2026 cross country season Saturday morning in Joplin, Missouri, competing at the Southern Stampede. 

On the women's side, Southern Nazarene battled through a competitive field. Lauryn Jackson led the way for the Crimson Storm, clocking a time of 20:55.6. She was followed by Callie Coon, crossing the finish line at 21:00.6, and Allie Sheppard, who rounded out the top three for SNU at 21:08.0. 

The men's side placed 14th as a team in Joplin. Sean Kappel led the way for the Crimson Storm, running 26:15.3. In his first ever 8K, Kappel ran his way to the 13th fastest 8K in SNU history. Logan Smith finished next for SNU at 27:05.5, just ahead of Brady Robertson at 27:11.8 to round out the top three for Southern Nazarene.


Next Up

The Crimson Storm will travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas to compete in the Chile Pepper Festival hosted by the University of Arkansas on Saturday, October 3.
