BETHANY, Okla.—Southern Nazarene University Athletics is proud to announce the hiring of Mia Moddelmog as the new Director of Athletics Communications, effective July 1, 2024.

Moddelmog served as the Athletics Communications Graduate Assistant during the 2023-24 year. As the graduate assistant, she was the primary contact for SNU Baseball, Women's Basketball, Cross Country, Men's and Women's Soccer, and Track & Field. She also helped cover all other sports, when needed.

Moddelmog played softball at Oklahoma Baptist and was a part of the 2023 Great American Conference championship team, which was the first GAC championship in program history.

"We are so excited to have Mia as our new Director of Athletics Communications" said Assistant Athletic Director, Philip Younts. "She did an amazing job in her first year as the graduate assistant. Anytime something needs to be done, she is the first to step up and help wherever she can. She is incredibly talented and a hard-worker, so I have no doubt she is going to continue to excel in promoting SNU athletics."

Over the past year, Moddelmog has honed her skills in a variety of areas, including graphic design, writing, PA, and stats. She continues to produce excellent content that promotes the successes of SNU athletics. 

Mia graduated from Oklahoma Baptist with a bachelor's degree in Business Marketing in 2023. She will continue to work on her Master's in Sports Management at Southern Nazarene and expects to graduate in May 2025. Her sister, Emma Grace, plays volleyball at SNU. Her father, Chris, is the head baseball coach at Rend Lake College.

Mia resides in Oklahoma City and enjoys walking, reading, and hanging out with friends and family.
