Storm Earn Run-Rule Victory over the Rangers

LeMay and Dias team up for three home runs to held the SNU offense cruise past NWOSU, 12-2

ENID, Okla. - The Crimson Storm met the Northwestern Oklahoma State Rangers for a midweek non conference contest at David Allen Field under the lights.

The two squads met for the fourth time this season after the Rangers (26-13, 16-8 GAC) swept Southern Nazarene (12-27, 6-18 GAC) in Alva earlier this season. The Storm was looking for revenge as they blasted 13 hits to take the midweek contest over NWOSU.

The Storm got on the board first thanks to a two-run triple from Trey Orman. Max Dias plated another run in the top of the second after he singled through the right side to extend the SNU lead to 3-0.

Starting pitcher Oliver Wilson continued to keep the Rangers offense at bay through two innings of work before Northwestern plated one run on a double to the center field wall.

The Crimson Storm would then look to Parker Presley to get out of the jam as he allowed just one final run to score as the Rangers tacked on one more run from a sac fly to trail SNU by one.

Tucker LeMay got the SNU offense going once again with a solo shot to begin the fourth inning. Jacob Martinez then singled to left to plate one more to push the Storm lead to three runs.

SNU kept their foot on the gas as they plated two more after back to back bases loaded walks to lead the Rangers 7-2. Presley continued his flawless work on the mound delivering another scoreless frame to the Rangers.

Dias took matters into his own hands as he sent one deep for a two-run bomb to add on to the Storm lead once more. LeMay followed suit sending his second home run of the evening over the center field wall for a solo shot and to give SNU the 10-2 lead going into the bottom of the sixth.

The Storm continued their offensive rampage into the seventh inning as Orman and Dias both drove in a run to put SNU on top 12-2. The Rangers were down to their final outs in the bottom of the seventh as they looked to avoid a run-rule.

Presley continued to dominate the Northwestern hitters as he recorded the final three outs to allow the Storm to claim the 12-2 run-rule victory over Northwestern Oklahoma State.

Tucker LeMay ended the night 2-3 at the plate while both of his hits came via home run. Max Dias also saw success at the plate as he finished the game 4-4 at the plate with a home run and a double.
Parker Presley and Oliver Wilson teamed up on the mound for an outstanding outing. Wilson allowed just two earned runs in 2.1 innings of work. Presley held the Rangers scoreless in his 4.2 innings of work as he collected eight strikeouts on the night.
