Storm Fall Short at MACU

Mid-America Christian holds off the Storm, 9-0, in a midweek matchup

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - The Storm took a quick trip down the road to take on Mid-America Christian for a midweek matchup. The  Evanagels only allowed just three hits as they handed SNU the 9-0 loss.

The Storm (7-20, 3-12 GAC) got the first chance to score, but the Evangels(17-8, 9-2 SAC) kept SNU quiet as they jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first after a double to left center plated two.

The Storm struggled to get any sort of offense going as the Evangels retired the side to begin the second inning. MACU was able to tack on another run on an SNU throwing error to stretch their lead to three.

Another quick inning for the Storm at the plate allowed Mid-America to take back over. They went on to plate another run on a double down the left field line to lead 4-0 after three innings.

MACU continued to keep the Storm offense at bay as they refused to give up a hit. The Evangels continued their scoring streak as they blasted a three-run home run to push their lead to seven.

The next two innings would remain quiet for both squads as Gunner Phillips found his groove on the mound. Levi Graham then took over on the mound in the seventh. MACU was able to plate another run after they took advantage of another SNU throwing error to push their lead to eight.

The Storm offense struggled to find some sort of a comeback as they were handed another scoreless inning in the eighth. Parker Presley took over on the mound, but the Evangels plated one on a single through the left side to lead 9-0.

The Storm offense was silenced once again as Mid-America grabbed the final three outs to claim the midweek victory over SNU, 9-0.
