Crimson Storm Fall to No. 6 Dallas Baptist

Crimson Storm unable to hang on against No. 6 Dallas Baptist

DALLAS, Texas - The Crimson Storm took on No. 6 Dallas Baptist in their final game of the DBU Thanksgiving Classic. It was all SNU in the first half, but the Storm was unable to hang on as the Patriots came out on top,  82-64.

The Crimson Storm (3-1, 0-0 GAC) was unstoppable early on shooting nearly 81% from the field in the first half. Costly turnovers would later hurt the Storm as the Patriots (8-1, 0-0 LSC) took advantage of 25 points off turnovers in the contest.

The Storm wasted no time getting on the board jumping out to a quick 6-0 lead to begin the contest. SNU kept their foot on the gas as Tracy Godfrey Jr. and Baron Bracey teamed up for a couple of buckets to extend the Crimson Storm lead. The Storm continued to pour in the points as Stevie Strong added a bucket to push SNU ahead 14-7.

The Patriots began to chip away taking advantage of Storm fouls. A 5-0 run at the charity stripe put DBU within four. Strong and Bracey continued to fuel the Crimson Storm offense both adding to the SNU score once again. A lethal three-pointer from Jeremy Golson pushed the Storm back in front by 10.

A few more trips to the foul line allowed Dallas Baptist to hang around cutting the deficit to 34-30. Colby Henderson responded with a layup putting the Storm back in front by six. The two squads traded trips to the charity stripe before Golson notched his second three of the contest maintaining the SNU lead, 42-35. The Patriots then collected two final buckets to trail 42-37 at halftime.

The Crimson Storm continued to shoot it to open up the second half as Golson notched another three to maintain the SNU lead. DBU trailed close behind before tying the score with a three pointer. A trip to the foul line allowed the Patriots to take the lead, 49-47.

A 15-0 run from DBU stopped any momentum the Storm had. The Patriots took over from there continuing to pour on the points to lead by as much as 21. Bam Johnson was able to hit one final three before the clock ran down and Dallas Baptist took the 82-64 victory over Southern Nazarene.
