JOPLIN, Mo. - The Southern Nazarene Men's and Women's Cross Country teams traveled to Joplin, Missouri for the NCAA Regionals Saturday morning to compete in their last race of the 2024 season.
The women finished in 31st place with an average time of 25:24 in the Women 6000m for the top 5 runners. Augustana. took first place with a total time of 21:26. Isabel Lynch lead the way for the Storm with a 145th place finish with a time if 24:02.47 in the women 6k.
Freshman Kelsi Hilton followed closely behind Lynch coming in at 149th place with a time of 24:11.89. Elora Jones finished in 170th place with a time of 24:49.01.
Others competing for SNU on the women's side Afeni Rubio came in 203rd with a time of 26.45.33. Jasmine Brown finished in 210th place with a time of 27:13.02.
On the men's side, the Storm finished 30th out of the 31 teams that competed in the men's 10000m with an average time of 34:49 for their top five runners.
William Ramirez led the way for Southern Nazarene in the men's 1000m finishing in 149th place with a time of 34:00.80. Kayden Chapparo finished in 168th place with a time of 34:46.05 and Aiden Hoover finished not far behind Chapparro in 172nd place with a time of 34:38.6.
Others competing for the Crimson Storm on the men's side were Daniel Ponce who finished in 180th place with a time of 34:57.18 and Andres Young who finished in 194th place with a time of 35:36.96.
