Crimson Storm Tripped Up by the Bisons

Storm falls as the Bisons take the sweep in Bethany

BETHANY, Okla. - The Crimson Storm hosted the Harding Bisons for an afternoon matchup inside the Sawyer Center. The Bisons were dominant as they snapped the Storm's three game win streak taking the match, 3-0.

The Crimson Storm (7-16, 3-7 GAC) jumped in front early to start the match. Kate Wright and Riley Richardson teamed up for a pair of kills giving SNU a  2-0 lead. The Bisons (15-7, 8-2 GAC) responded quickly with a 3-0 run to take over the lead.

Wright then teamed up with Rayanna Mauldin for a pair of kills to put the Crimson Storm back in front. Harding took over from there going on a 7-0 run. The Bisons continued to tack on the kills and take advantage of SNU errors.

Southern Nazarene began to chip away, but it was not enough as Harding powered down the kill they needed to get set point. Another SNU attack error sealed the deal for the Bisons as they took the first set, 25-17.

The Storm looked to even the match as they battled back and forth with Harding to begin set two. A kill from Tessa Henry and a service ace from Whitney Bowie put SNU in front 8-7.

The Bisons then responded with another small run to go back in front. From there Harding carried their momentum pouring in the kills to take an 18-12 lead. A few more kills and an attack error from SNU gave the Bisons set point. Another SNU error was all it took for HU to take the second set 25-15.

The Bisons took an early lead to begin set three looking for a sweep. Richardson then powered down a kill to put SNU within one. Molly Langford and Henry teamed up for a few kills to tie up the score.

A 6-0 run from the Bisons proved costly for the Storm as they took control, 13-7. SNU chipped away as Emma Grace Moddelmog and Wright notched a kill. Harding continued to tack on the points to lead 19-13.

Another run from the Bisons gave them a set point, but the Storm was not done yet. Another kill from Henry and a few attack errors from Harding kept SNU alive. But, one final kill from the Bisons finished off the match as HU took the set, 25-17, and the game, 3-0.
