Crimson Storm Drop Road Game at Southeastern

Southern Nazarene falls 3-1 on the road against the Savage Storm

DURANT, Okla. - The Crimson Storm headed south to take on Southeastern Oklahoma State for a road matchup with the Savage Storm. SNU battled, but Southeastern came out on top, snagging the 3-1 victory in Durant.

The Crimson Storm (3-11, 0-3 GAC) got on the board first as Molly Langford powered down the first kill of the match. Southeastern (5-8, 2-2 GAC) responded by taking advantage of an SNU service error and collecting a kill of their own.

The two squads went back and forth from there. Rayanna Mauldin and Isabella Labrada teamed up for a pair of kills to push the Crimson Storm ahead 9-7.

A 5-0 run from the Savage Storm gave them back the lead and they took control from there. SE earned set point on an SNU attack error, but the Crimson Storm had some fight left in them.

Langford tallied another kill and a Southeastern error put SNU within two. A Southern Nazarene service error sealed the deal for the Savage Storm as they took set one, 25-22.

The Crimson Storm looked to even the score as they jumped out to an early 3-1 lead as Mauldin continued to collect the kills. SNU kept their foot on the gas as Kate Wright, Langford, and Labrada all added kills to the stat sheet pushing the SNU lead ahead once more.

Southern Nazarene took advantage of a few SE errors to maintain their lead at 17-11. The Savage Storm attempted a comeback but kills from Emma Grace Moddelmog and Labrada held the SNU lead at four.

A 4-0 run from Southeastern tied the score at 20 all, but a 5-0 run from SNU consisting of kills from Whitney Bowie and Wright gave the Crimson Storm the set two victory, 25-20.

Set three was another battle as the two teams continued to trade points from the first serve. A 6-1 run from SE allowed them to jump in front 11-7. A kill from Riley Richardson gave SNU some momentum going into the next few points.

The Savage Storm powered down a handful of kills to extend their lead once again. Southeastern took over from there as they claimed a set point. Southern Nazarene was not done yet, as Bowie and Wright teamed up for a pair of kills to keep the Crimson Storm alive.

SE tacked on one final kill to take set four 25-21 and to lead the match 2-1.

Set four was dominated by the Savage Storm as they took an early 8-2 lead. They kept tacking on the points to extend their lead to 10.
They did not stop there as they continued to pile on the kills to eventually lead 20-3. A kill from Kaylie Marshall got the Storm going to end the SE run.

SNU was not finished as Moddelmog, Mauldin, and Richardson chipped in a few kills to keep the Crimson Storm alive.

A pair of kills was all it took for the Savage Storm to take set four 25-12 and the match, 3-1.
