Storm Swept on the Road at Oklahoma Christian

SNU comes up short in midweek matchup with the Eagles

EDMOND, Okla. - The Crimson Storm traveled just up the road for a midweek non-conference matchup with the Eagles of Oklahoma Christian. The Storm struggled to keep the Eagles off balance as OC took the match, 3-0.

The two squads battled from the first serve before a short run from Oklahoma Christian (11-7, 2-4 LSC) pushed them ahead. The Storm (4-15, 1-6 GAC) chipped away after Riley Richardson and Rayanna Mauldin teamed up for a pair of kills and Emma Grace Moddelmog collected an ace to tie the score at 9-9.

OC then responded with yet another run to go ahead 13-9. A handful of kills from Kate Wright kept SNU in the set, but the Eagles continued to stretch their lead.

The Eagles took over from their powering down the kills to get to set point. A Crimson Storm service error finished the set for OC as they took set one, 25-17.

Oklahoma Christian collected the first point of set two, but Wright got the Storm on the board shortly after with a kill of her own. The Eagles responded and took a 5-3 lead after a handful of kills.

Molly Langford, Whitney Bowie, and Mauldin teamed up to tie the score getting the momentum to the SNU side of the net.

The Eagles were not done yet as they strung together some points to take over and lead 16-11. A few more kills from Mauldin put the Crimson Storm within three.

From there OC remained in control as they powered down three final kills to take set two, 25-18.

The Eagles jumped on the board with an early 6-2 lead. Kaylie Marshall and Wright teamed up for a pair of kills to put the Storm within two.

OC responded with a 4-0 run to hold their control. Southern Nazarene was not going anywhere as they clawed their way back with kills from Mauldin and Wright to trail just 13-11.

The Storm continued their momentum as they took advantage of a few OC errors and kills from Marshall and Richardson to tie the score at 15 all.

Another costly run from Oklahoma Christian put them back in control as they took match point. The Eagles powered down one final kill to claim the set, 25-22, and the match, 3-0.
