A five set thriller goes to the Tigers, 3-2

BETHANY, Okla. - The Crimson Storm returned to their home court inside the Sawyer Center to host Ouachita Baptist for an afternoon matchup. In another five set thriller the Tigers left Bethany with the victory as they defeated the Storm.

The two squads went to battle early, but the Tigers (12-7, 3-4 GAC) took an early lead. A few more kills from the Tigers pushed their lead to 14-8.

A 5-0 run from the Tigers proved costly as they took over the lead, 22-16. Ouachita kept their foot on the gas powering down a few more kills to claim set one, 25-18.

SNU looked to even the score as they took an early lead thanks to a serving run from Katelyn Branson. The Crimson Storm continued to tack on the kills as Kate Wright got in on the scoring.

Whitney Bowie went on a serving run of her own to help push the SNU lead to five. Ouachita was not going down without a fight as they continued to claw back.

Kills from Moddelmog and Rayanna Mauldin continued the momentum for Southern Nazarene. A kill from Richardson gave the Storm match point, but the Tigers went on a 4-0 to tie the score 24 all.

A few more kills from Wright and Richardson were all it took as SNU took set two, 27-25.

The teams went back and forth once again to open up set three. A pair of serving runs from Branson and Bowie allowed SNU to snag the lead.

The Storm maintained their control as Wright and Mauldin powered down the kills to get set point. Richardson claimed the match with another kill as Southern Nazarene took the set, 25-22.

The Tigers took an early lead to open up set four. A Mauldin kill and an ace from Moddelmog tied the score at 9-9.

Ouachita then took back their lead utilizing a 6-1 run. SNU continued to battle back, but it was not enough as the Tigers claimed a match point.
