LUBBOCK, Texas—Southern Nazarene Equestrian returned to action on Saturday and Sunday for their first show of 2023 as they traveled to Lubbock, Texas for Two Western Shows. The Storm Riders found their rhythm again with 12 top-five finishes over the two-day event.
The Storm put plenty of riders in the field as 12 different individuals represented SNU in Lubbock. On day one, Bethany Crouch led Southern Nazarene with a 3rd place finish. She was joined in the top-five by Connor Rice, who finished 4th, and Georgia Woodward and Olivia Harris, who each claimed fifth place.
Erin Sims, Jasmine Massey, Tim Hough, Reagan Van Soest, Emily Nordues, Reagan Cleveland, Charity Logemann, and Janessa Izell each took a reserve finish on day one.
The Storm Riders really found their stride in day two, claiming nine top-five finishes. Tim Hough showed out, taking 1st place. Reagan Van Soest also rode extremely well, taking 2nd place on Sunday. Bethany Crouch and Connor Rice each racked up another top-five finish as Crouch climbed up to 4th place, while Rice took a 5th place finish on Sunday.
Erin Sims and Janessa Izell each took 4th on Sunday, while Emily Nordhues and Jasmine Massey claimed 5th. Reagan Cleveland climbed into the placings at 6th on day two. Olivia Harris, Georgia Woodward, and Charity Logemann each finished reserve on Sunday.
SNU Equestrian will be back in Texas next weekend for Two Hunt Shows in Canyon, Texas. The show is hosted by West Texas A&M. Following the Two Hunt Shows, SNU will begin preparation for the Region Championships in late February and early March.
