Storm Travels to Dallas for the Old Glory Gallop

Men's and women's Cross Country compete at Dallas Baptist

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - The Storm hit the road heading south to compete in the Lone Star state at the Old Glory Gallop at Dallas Baptist University. The Storm competed for their last regular season meet before the GAC Championships.

SNU hit the course early, beginning with the men at 8:15 a.m. running an 8k race. The women followed up with a 5k race that began at 9:15 a.m. The men competed against a hefty group of 28 teams and the women competed against a hefty 33 teams. 

The men took the course and were off to the races. The men finished 19th in the men's race with a team time of 2:18:30. East Central, of the GAC, won the men's race with a team time of 1:58:32, followed by host, DBU, finishing with a team time of 2:04:37. The SNU men were led by William Ramirez, who finished the race with a time of 26:46:2. 

The women hit the course ready to deliver for the Storm. The women finished 21st in the 5k race with a team time of 1:41:50. Host Dallas Baptist finished in first place with a team time of 1:29:17. The Oklahoma Baptist Bison, of the GAC, followed DBU with a team time of 1:31:42. The Storm was led by a performance from Sabbatha Taylor, who finished 51st with a time of 19:11:02. 

The Storm will continue to prepare for the GAC Championships on Saturday, October 21st in Russellville, Arkansas.
