EL RENO, Okla.—Southern Nazarene hosted their first ever Two Western Equestrian shows on Saturday and Sunday at the Canadian County EXPO and Event Center in El Reno, Oklahoma. The Storm Riders took care of business in their first home show with five wins and 12 total top-5 finishes.
Day 1
On day one, Emily Nordhues took home a first place finish at Level 1. Reagan Cleveland and Janessa Izell also earned victories as Cleveland took first at the Rookie B level, while Janessa Izell took first in the beginner show.
SNU went 1-2 at the Rookie B level as Jasmine Massey was just behind Cleveland's first place finish with a second place finish of her own. The Storm also nabbed four sixth place finishes on Saturday as Reagan Van Soest took sixth at the Rookie B level, and Rakae Sibley, Erin Sims, and Tim Hough all finished sixth at the Beginner level.
Georgia Woodward was also Reserve in Open Horsemanship. Charity Logemann was reserve in Level 1, and Conner Rice and Bethany Crouch were reserve at the Beginner level.
Day 2
Sunday proved to be the big day for the Storm riders as they doubled their top-5 finishes with eight more. Emily Nordues took first at Level 1, while Tim Hough jumped all the way up to a 1st place finish at the Beginner level.
Along with those top performances, Charity Logemann took 2nd at Level 1, Raegan Cleveland took 2nd at Rookie B, and Conner Rice and Bethany Crouch each took 2nd at the Beginner level.
Reagan Van Soest improved to a 4th place finish at Rookie B on Sunday, while Georgia Woodward jumped up to a 5th place finish in the Open Horsemanship.
Jasmine Massey and Janessa Izell were each reserves in their respective divisions.
With their show behind them, SNU will now turn their attention to the Two Hunt Shows in Canyon, Texas on October 29 and 30.
