MONTICELLO, Ark. – The Southern Nazarene Baseball team concluded their weekend Great American Conference series with University of Arkansas-Monticello in a 17-0 loss on Sunday in Monticello.
The Crimson Storm struggled to get on track as they only managed to connect with the ball three times. An offensively powerful UAM club registered 16 hits and shut SNU's game down.
Jarrett Phillips,
Austin Glock, and
Eric Gutierrez were the only Storm players to collect a hit as each went 1-for-2 on the day.
On the mound,
Zach Birkle clocked the most time as he pitched through 2.1 innings and struck out one.
Payne Maga (1-5) saw action through 2.0 innings and collected a strikeout on his way to being credited with today's loss.
Brandon Rezek and
Jacob Johnson rounded the work for SNU as Rezek struck out one.
Southern Nazarene hopes will look to rebound on Tuesday as they will take on Northeastern State in Tahlequah, Okla. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
