SEARCY, AR – Despite falling in both games on day one of their series against the Bison, the Southern Nazarene Baseball team bounced back in the finale to beat Harding 5-3 on Saturday afternoon in Searcy.
 
SNU (2-17, 2-13 GAC) clinched their second win of the season as they made their presence known to HU (12-6, 9-6 GAC) by way of three scores in the 1
st inning. The bats were hot and ready as three different Crimson Storm players homered to run up the score.
 
The homerun party started when 
Clay Lockett knocked one over the left field fence to break the seal. Thereafter, 
Colby Entwistle smacked a solo shot over the same wall to bring the score to 2-0. The hot scoring inning was rounded off with an 
EJ Taylor bomb down the left field line to give the Crimson Storm a 3-0 lead.
 
By the 7
th, SNU held a 3-1 advantage but had more in the tank as a 
Tyler Broyles single brought 
Jarrett Phillips across home plate to tack on one more score. The Crimson Storm capped off their scoring in the 8
th as 
EJ Taylor scored 
Clay Lockett off a sacrifice fly out to centerfield.
 
Southern Nazarene was able to hold off a two running 8
th inning by Harding to prevail in the finale 5-3.
 
EJ Taylor led the Storm offensively as he finished 1-for-3 on the day with two RBI's and a homerun. 
Clay Lockett and 
Colby Entwistle both homered and went 1-for-3. Lockett also crossed the plate twice in the Storm's win today.
 
Tyler Broyles turned in a 1-for-4, one RBI, performance while 
Jarrett Phillips finished 1-for-3. 
Landon Walker rounded the work off as he went 2-for-3.
 
Payne Maga clocked the most time as he held the bump down for 6.0 innings, struck out three, and faced 27 batters. Maga would be credited with the win, bringing his record to 1-2 on the year. 
Jarrett Phillips and 
Brett Rexroad both came in as relief after Maga as Rexroad was credited with the save.
 
Southern Nazarene will be back in action this week as they will make the short trip over to take on Mid-America Christian on Wednesday. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
