BETHANY - Tanner Stiles has been named Assistant Athletic Director of Operations at Southern Nazarene University. SNU Athletic Director
Danny Thomason made the announcement on Monday afternoon.
"We are so excited to welcome Tanner back to SNU. His wealth of experience and knowledge with our athletic department, as well as his commitment to serving our student-athletes, coaches, and teams, will be a welcome addition to our staff," said Thomason. "More importantly than even his past excellent work here, Tanner is just the kind of team member we are looking for in the Athletic Department to help carry out SNU's Mission of 'Making Christlike disciples through higher education.'"
Stiles just recently completed a two-year stint as a Graduate Assistant for Athletics Communications as he assisted in the day-to-day operations of the sports information offices. Along with his experience in communications and marketing, Stiles took on a lead role in gameday operations in the fall, winter, and spring, helping coordinate all events throughout the year.Â
Stiles took on a multitude of roles in Communications as he was the contact for numerous sports including women's basketball, baseball, and soccer. He also maintained a part-time job with the Oklahoma City Thunder while earning his Masters of Business Administration from Southern Nazarene in 2019.
"As a former student-athlete who benefited so much from the SNU athletic department, I relish this opportunity to step into this role and give back to our current and future student-athletes in the same fashion," said Stiles. "I am so pumped to be back with SNU athletics and I can't wait to get started with Danny and the rest of the administration."
Prior to moving into the role of Graduate Assistant, Stiles played one season of golf for the Crimson Storm in 2013, and two seasons of JV basketball from 2014-16 while working in Athletic Communications as a student. He took on lead play-by-play roles for the SNU broadcast primarily in football and basketball.Â
He graduated from Southern Nazarene University, Cum Laude with a bachelor's in marketing in May 2017.
