MAGNOLIA, Ark. — Southern Nazarene dropped the third game of the series with No. 4 ranked Southern Arkansas 7-1 and the final game of the series was cancelled due to heavy rain expected most of the afternoon.

The Crimson Storm were able to get their bats going as they tallied six hits in the game after combining for just eight total in the two games yesterday.
Mahina Sauer got the start in the circle for SNU as the junior took her third loss of the season. She tossed 3.0 innings and allowed four runs on four hits while striking out two Mulerider hitters.
Caitlyn Curlee and
Cassidy Davila each came on to relieve Sauer as the duo combined for just one strikeout.

Skye Ah Yat led the way at the plate for SNU as she finished 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored. Four other Storm hitters finished the game with a hit as Curlee,
Kaley Knox,
Jacey James, and
Brooke Stutz all reached base with a base knock.

After a couple of scoreless innings, Southern Arkansas got their bats going in the bottom of the third by scoring four runs to take a 4-0 lead. Southern Nazarene came right back in the top of the fourth as Ah Yat launched her fifth home run of the year to cut the lead to 4-1. SAU scored two more in the bottom of the fourth to make it 6-1, and later scored one more in the fifth to extend it to 7-1. The Storm were unable to get anything going in the final inning as the Muleriders took the series on their home field.

The final game of the series was cancelled due to rain building up in the Magnolia area for the majority of the afternoon.

Southern Nazarene will travel to Shawnee next Tuesday as they take on rival Oklahoma Baptist in a two-game series before returning home next weekend for a four-game series against Southeastern Oklahoma State.
