DURANT, Okla. — Southern Nazarene closed out the series versus Southeastern Oklahoma State with a pair of losses 8-3 and 2-1 on Monday at Mike Metheny Field.

The Crimson Storm managed seven hits in the first game of the doubleheader, but just two in the series finale as the Savage Storm completed the sweep of SNU.

Senior
Jefferson Harris got the start on the bump in game one and he took his sixth loss of the season. He tossed 0.2 innings and allowed seven runs on seven hits.
Brandon Rezek,
Jarrett Phillips, and
Elijah Brady all came in to relieve Harris as Phillips tallied six strikeouts in the contest, while Rezek and Brady each recorded one.

Connor Dayton and
Tanner Ladon led the way at the plate for the Crimson Storm as the duo each tallied two hits. Dayton scored two runs in the game while Ladon scored one.
Garrett Perez recorded the Storm's only RBI as the senior finished 1-for-4.
Shelby Reese and
Jack Campbell also knocked a dinger into play for SNU as well.

Southeastern went nuts in the first inning as the Savage Storm scored seven runs to take the early 7-0. Since that outburst, SNU's defense was very sharp as they held SOSU to one run in the remaining eight innings.

Southern Nazarene cut into the lead in the top of the fifth when Perez reached on a fielder's choice that scored Dayton to make it 8-1. SNU added another run in the seventh when Ladon scored on an error to cut it to 8-2. The Crimson Storm scored one more in the ninth and tried to make a rally, but the Savage Storm slammed the door to take game two of the series.

Jackson Berry got the start in the final game of the series and the senior had a great outing. The right-hander tossed 7.2 innings and allowed just five hits and gave up two runs while striking out three Savage Storm hitters. It is also Berry's first complete game of the year.

Cole Lee and
Tanner Ladon were the only two SNU hitters to record a hit, while
Jackson Hopking recorded the only RBI for the Crimson Storm.

Southern Nazarene took the 1-0 lead in the top of the third when Hopking's groundout scored Ladon. Southeastern came back in the bottom of the fourth with a run to tie the game at 1-1, before both teams turned the defense up a notch and the game was sent to extra innings. The Savage Storm sent a solo-shot over the right field wall in the bottom of the eighth to give SOSU the series sweep.

Southern Nazarene returns home for a non-conference matchup with Mid-America Christian on Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. before welcoming in Southwestern Oklahoma State to Feland Field on Thursday and Friday.
