BETHANY, Okla. — Southern Nazarene won the first game of a scheduled doubleheader against Northwestern Oklahoma State 1-0 in 14 innings, before the second game was suspended in the sixth inning due to darkness with the game tied 4-4.

It was a pitcher's duel in game one, as
Katelyn Brown and Madison Garza lit it up in the circle for each team. Garza pitched 13.1 innings for the Rangers and struck out 16 batters while allowing just one run. Brown pitched a complete 14-inning game as the senior recorded a career-high 19 strikeouts. She was just one strikeout away from tying the GAC record and school record for most strikeouts in a game. Brown also allowed just seven hits and earned her 10
th win of the season.

Both teams were looking for something at the plate, as the game entered extra innings.
Reilly Schlarb got one base to begin the bottom of the 14
th inning, as
Alexis Ramos then came in to pitch run. After getting in scoring position at second base, Ramos was the game-winning run as
Jacey James reached on a fielding error that scooted into the outfield.

Mahina Sauer led the way at the plate for the Crimson Storm as the sophomore went 4-for-6 with a double.
Kriston Shumaker went 2-for-4 with a couple of crucial singles to get runners in scoring position for SNU, while
Riley Brown finished 1-for-3.

The second game was much different, as the Rangers scored two runs in the top of the first to take the early lead. They added one more run in the top of the second to push their lead to 3-0.

 The Storm came back in the bottom of the second, as they scored three runs to tie the game. Toilolo singled to left field to score
Katelyn Brown before Curlee reached on a fielding error that scored
Riley Brown to make it 3-2. Later in the inning, Sanchez singled to left field that scored Toilolo to make it 3-3.

The Rangers re-took the lead in the top of the fourth, as they pushed one run across the plate to make it 4-3.
Jacey James reached on a fielder's choice in the bottom of the fifth, scoring
Kaley Knox to tie the game before the decision was made to call the game in the top of the sixth.
