ALVA, Okla. — Down 4-1 heading into the top of the seventh inning, Southern Nazarene got a three-run bomb from
Cole Wagner, but had to watch Northwestern Oklahoma score the game-winning run in the  bottom of the seventh.

The Crimson Storm (9-21, 5-17 GAC) didn't score in the eighth or ninth as it dropped the opening game of a 3-game Great American Conference series Sunday night.

Shelby Reese went 3-for-5 with a run scored while
Cole Wagner and
Austin Cooper each went 2-for-5. Wagner drove in three runs and scored one. The Storm out hit the Rangers (15-20, 8-14 GAC), but left 10 on base.
Hugo Kinebuchi took the loss to move to 1-2 on the year after he gave up the lone run in the seventh and walked two.
Ryan Mills struck out four and gave up four runs on seven hits through six innings in the start.

Northwestern Oklahoma State got out in front early with one in the bottom of the first before a
Cole Lee single to right scored Josh Flower to tie the game at 1-1. The Rangers scored two in the fourth and one in the fifth to lead 4-1 before SNU tied it in the top of the seventh on Wagner's fifth home run of the year. NWOSU though scored one in the bottom of the seventh and held SNU scoreless from there.
