DURANT, Okla. — Southern Nazarene closed out the series with Southeastern Oklahoma State by splitting the doubleheader in a 9-1 loss in the first game, and an 11-8 win in the final game.

Katelyn Brown got the nod in the opener for SNU, as the senior pitched 3.0 innings, struck out one, and allowed six runs, all earned. The Crimson Storm (19-24, 15-16 GAC) tallied just four hits in the game, as the Savage Storm totaled 14.

Mahina Sauer recorded two of the four hits, as the sophomore finished 2-for-3 with the only run scored for SNU.
Katelyn Brown went 1-for-2 with an RBI, while
Sydni Toilolo went 1-for-3.

Southeastern Oklahoma State wasted no time in getting on the board, as they scored three runs in the bottom of the first to take an early 3-0 lead.

They added one more run in the bottom of the second to push it to 4-0 before SNU got things going at the plate.
Katelyn Brown singled to left center in the top of the third that scored
Mahina Sauer and made it a 4-1 game.
Southeastern came right back in the bottom of the third inning, as the Savage Storm (27-19, 21-12 GAC) pushed two more runs across the plate to extend their lead to 6-1. SEOSU added three more runs in the bottom of the fifth to put the game away.

Brooke Tate got the start in the final game of the series for Southern Nazarene as the senior pitched 3.0 innings and allowed seven runs, four of those earned.

For the second straight game, the Savage Storm struck first in the opening inning as they look an early 1-0 lead. Their bats exploded in the second inning, as they pushed five runs across the plate to take a 6-0 lead over SNU. SEOSU added another run in the bottom of the third to make it 7-0, before the Crimson Storm finally got their bats going.

Kaley Knox in the top of the fourth, before SNU scored two more runs in the inning.
Victoria Rodriguez singled to left field that scored
Riley Brown and
Mahina Sauer as Southern Nazarene cut the lead to 7-3.

The Crimson Storm cut into the lead even more in the top of the fifth, as Sauer singled to score
Katelyn Brown to make it 7-4. The Savage Storm came right back in the bottom of the fifth to score one to push the lead to 8-4, and then the real fireworks began in the top of the sixth.

After Sauer,
Jacey James, and
Katelyn Brown all reached base to start the inning,
Riley Brown launched a grand slam to right-center field to tie the game 8-8. It was Brown's first grand slam of the season, and her fifth home run on the year.

Southern Nazarene's hot bats carried over into the final inning, as
Katelyn Brown singled to center field that scored
Kendal Stockstill and
Makayla Shonamon to give the Crimson Storm its first lead of the entire series. A few batters later
Caitlyn Curlee scored
Katelyn Brown with her single to give SNU an 11-8, before Brown closed the door in the bottom of the seventh to earn her 13
th win of the season.

Katelyn Brown also had a strong day at the plate as she went 4-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored. The Crimson Storm had four players record at least two hits in the game, and three players finish with at least three.
Riley Brown finished 3-for-4 with four RBI's and two runs scored as well.

Mahina Sauer finished 4-for-5 and drove in a run, while
Kai Sanchez went 2-for-5 with an RBI.
Victoria Rodriguez recorded two RBI's for SNU, as the freshman went 1-for-2.
