DURANT, Okla. — Southern Nazarene dropped the first game of the series with Southeastern Oklahoma State 1-0 Friday, as it had to deal with a long delay.

The Crimson Storm and Savage Storm were scheduled to play a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m., but because of severe weather the teams were only able to play one game Friday.

SNU tallied seven hits in the opener, but couldn't push a run across the plate.
Katelyn Brown got the start in the circle for SNU, as she took the loss. She struck out six batters, allowed seven hits and one earned run in 6.0 innings of work.

After almost four scoreless innings, the Savage Storm were the first team to push a run across the plate. They scored one in the bottom of the fourth to take a 1-0 lead. The game was then suspended in the bottom of the fifth inning due to thunderstorms in the Durant area.

Play resumed after the three and a half hour rain-delay, and SNU couldn't get anything going in the final two innings.

Jacey James finished 2-for-3 at the plate for Southern Nazarene, while

Kriston Shumaker each went 1-for-3.
