BETHANY, Okla. — Southern Nazarene forced 18 turnovers out of Henderson State, but shot just 30.5 percent from the field as it dropped its second-straight game by six points or less in a 63-57 loss.

In a very physical contest from the opening tip, the Crimson Storm (7-12, 5-10 GAC) relied on their defense to keep them in the game against the number three team in the GAC. The Reddies (15-6, 11-4 GAC) made 5-of-18 three point attempts, as this gritty battle inside Sawyer saw 15 ties and 11 lead changes.

Alexus Jones followed up her career-high night on Thursday with another strong performance Saturday. The freshman led the way with a game-high 17 points, as she made 9-of-10 free throw attempts.
Abby Niehues tied her career-high in blocks, as the freshman swatted six shots for the third time this season. She also scored 10 points and added six rebounds. Those two were the only Storm players in double figures for the game.

Adrienne Berry added nine points and five rebounds for the Storm, while
Sidney Carolina almost notched a double-double as the senior finished with nine points and nine rebounds. The Storm went 5-for-17 behind the arc, and also hauled in 15 offensive rebounds.

Despite turning the ball over six times in the first quarter, Southern Nazarene held Henderson State to 33 percent shooting in the period as the Reddies took a 13-12 lead into the second. The Storm forced five turnovers in the second quarter, but shot just 33 percent as the Reddies took a 28-17 lead with 2:58 left in the half. SNU however, battled back at the tail end of the quarter to face a 30-26 deficit heading into halftime.

HSU turned it over five more times in the third quarter, as for the second-straight game the Storm had a strong response out of halftime. They outscored the Reddies 16-12 in the third, as it was tied 42-42 heading into the final frame. That's when things got interesting as the lead changed hands five times coming down the stretch.

The game was tied 57-57 with 2:19 to play, as the Reddies closed the game on a 6-0 run to take the victory inside the Sawyer Center.
