HONOLULU, Hawaii - Due to a serious medical situation, the Southern Nazarene and Hawaii Pacific match up at the Hoops in Hawaii Invitational was called with 6:52 remaining in the first half and the Crimson Storm leading 22-12.
A Hawaii Pacific player collapsed during the media timeout. He was attended to by the HPU training staff as well as the medical staff at the Convention Center until emergency crews arrived. He was then rushed to a local medical facility. The contest, as well as the following game between Dallas Baptist and Western Oregon, were called.Â
All of us at Southern Nazarene University send our prayers to the athlete, his family, the team, and all of those at Hawaii Pacific.Â
The game will not be made up and it will conclude the week in Hawaii for SNU. They return to action on Thursday, January 3rd at home against Ouachita Baptist.Â
