BETHANY, Okla. — Southern Nazarene was held to a .000 hitting percentage in a 3-0 (25-21, 25-14, 25-22) loss to Oklahoma Baptist in the Great American Conference home opener.
 
It was the first GAC home opening loss since the Crimson Storm (6-7, 1-1 GAC) joined the conference in 2012.
 
Bailee Turang had a team-high eight kills and added eight digs while Makenna Hunter had six kills and three bocks. Kylie Smith added 25 assists and seven digs to go with two blocks. Meagan Ellis had two aces, five kills, 13 digs and a block. Elyse Berlin had 19 digs while Hannah Davis had 13.
 
SNU had four team blocks, but the Bison (8-7, 3-0 GAC) had 10. Oklahoma Baptist also out dug SNU 67-65.
 
There were 11 ties and four lead changes in the first set and SNU had a 20-18 lead late after using a 9-4 run. The Bison though tied it at 20 and 21 before scoring the final four points of the set to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
 
The Storm were held to a -.146 percentage in the second set as OBU raced out to a 14-6 lead and cruised to a 2-0 advantage in the match. In the final set, SNU built a 14-9 lead, but watched the Bison go on a 9-1 run to lead 18-15. A Turang kill sparked a 3-0 run SNU to tie it at 18. The Crimson Storm tied it three more ties, but never could overtake OBU. The last tie came at 22 before the Bison closed the match with three straight points.
