BETHANY, Okla. — Elyse Berlin had a career-high 28 digs for Southern Nazarene Wednesday night in a 3-1 (25-21, 26-24, 18-25, 25-20) loss to Northwestern Oklahoma State.

The Crimson Storm (9-10, 4-3 GAC) lost their second straight match while the Rangers (16-5, 6-1 GAC) who won their 11
th consecutive.

Berlin was also just two assists shy of a double-double with eight.
Kylie Smith had a match-high 45 assists and added 19 digs for her 11
th double-double of the season.
Bailee Turang posted her 10
th double-double of the season with 21 kills and 14 digs.
Meagan Ellis added 14 kills and 15 digs while
Kayla Thomas had 12 kills and two blocks.

Northwestern hit .220 and held the Storm to just a .189 clip. SNU out dug the Rangers, 90-83, but NWOSU had four aces and seven blocks compared to the Storm's two aces and three blocks.

SNU held an early 9-7 lead in the first set, but the Rangers went on a 13-5 run to lead 20-16 and held on to take a 1-0 lead in the match. There were 10 ties and four lead changes in the second set with the final tie coming at 24. The Crimson Storm trailed 24-21 before SNU got a Thomas kill, a Northwestern error, and then a Turang kill to tie it at 24. The Rangers though got two straight kills to take the 2-0 lead in the match.

SNU hit .333 (15-3-36) in the third set and Turang had seven of her kills in the third set along. The Storm pretty much led from start to finish in the third set. They trailed just 2-1 early before a 5-1 run gave SNU a 6-3 lead and it never trailed again. In the final set, the Rangers broke a 14-14 tie with a 3-0 run and never looked back from there to take the set. Â
