DURANT, Okla. — Southern Nazarene got a rally in the seventh inning in the opening game of a doubleheader with Southeastern Oklahoma State to pick up a 3-2 win before falling 4-0 Friday afternoon.
Â
In the opener, Southeastern Oklahoma State held a 2-1 lead despite getting no-hit through the first five innings, but SNU rallied in the top of the seventh with two to take a 3-2 lead. The Savage Storm took a 1-0 lead on a double steal in the bottom of the first before a
Jessica Thompson single in the top of the fourth tied it up at 1-1. Southeastern retook the lead in the bottom half of the inning on an SNU error.
Â
Wyatt (11-9) had a no-hitter going through five and gave up just one hit through six innings to keep the Storm in striking distance. SNU did strike in the top of the seventh on a pair of singles by
Jill Clemence and
Kyndall Freer-Christopher to give the lead to the Storm at 3-2. That's all Wyatt needed to close the door.
Â
Hannah LeBeau went 2-for-3 while Clemence went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Wyatt gave up just two runs on one hit and struck out seven in the complete game outing.
Â
It was all Southeastern (22-14, 18-8 GAC) in the second game as the Crimson Storm were held to just three hits.
Katelyn Brown (5-10) gave up four runs on eight hits in six innings of work.Â
