RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. — Southern Nazarene was able to avoid a series sweep and snap a seven-game losing streak as it split today's doubleheader with Arkansas Tech. After the Wonder Boys took game one 8-6, SNU bounced back to win the finale 10-3.

The Crimson Storm (2-16, 2-7 GAC) had an opportunity to take both games, as they jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead in game one. Isaac Hale started the game for Arkansas Tech by walking the first three batters he faced.

Tyler Stevens then drove in
Dillon Feland with an RBI single, and Mike Descisciolo was hit by a pitch to make it a 2-0 game. Hale was then pulled without recording a single out.
Ryan Tucker added an RBI single and
Cody Nelson was hit by a pitch to score Stevens and give the Storm a 4-0 after the top of the first.

Tech scored two in the second inning and one in the third, narrowing the gap to 4-3. The Wonder Boys broke the game open in the fourth as they scored four runs in the frame to take a 7-4 lead.

SNU responded in the sixth as Feland ripped a double to score Nelson and
Jefferson Harris and make it a one-run game. ATU limited the Storm bats from that point, and added an insurance run in the seventh to ice game one.

Jacob Spruill (0-4) started the game for SNU and gave up seven runs in three innings of work.
Austin Cooper and
Cody Tolbert pitched five innings of relief and gave up just one run on four hits.

In game two, the Southern Nazarene bats stayed hot. Harris got the scoring going in the top of the third with the first home run of his career to score Nelson and give SNU a 2-0 lead.
Anthony Wiggins added his fourth homer of the season in the third to make it a 3-0 game.

The Storm struck again in the fifth as
Gaige Webster recorded an RBI single, which was followed by Wiggins' second home run of the game to make it 7-1 in favor of the Crimson Storm.

Tech scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth, but SNU responded with three in the top of the seventh to put the game away.

Connor Gaughan (1-0) made the first start of his collegiate career as he got the win and allowed just one run over 3.2 innings while striking out two.

Feland went 3-for-8 on the day with three runs scored and two RBIs, extending his hitting streak to 10 games. Wiggins recorded the first multi-homer game of his career and drove in four runs on the day.
