BETHANY, Okla. — Southern Nazarene picked up its first doubleheader sweep of the year with a 4-3 and 9-1 win over Oklahoma Panhandle State Wednesday.

The Crimson Storm (10-16) wrapped up the non-conference season and got two big outings from its pitching staff that combined for 19 strikeouts on the day.

Kayla Wyatt (6-6) struck out 13 and fanned at least two batters in six of the seven innings as she gave up three runs on six hits in seven innings of work in the opener. All four of SNU's hits came from different players.

The Aggies took the first lead of the game with one in the top of the third, but the Storm got on back in the bottom half of the third on one of three OPSU errors to tie it at 1-1. SNU took a 2-1 lead in the fourth on a
Jessica Thompson ground out, but the Aggies returned the favor in the top of the fifth with two to lead 3-2.

SNU took the lead for good in the bottom of the fifth with a pair of runs. The first came on a
Sam Smith triple to right center before she scored on a
Jill Clemence sacrifice squeeze.

In the nightcap,
Katelyn Brown (4-8) gave up just one run on four hits and struck out six in five innings of work.
Kyndall Freer-Christopher went 3-for-3 with a run scored while Smith and
Hope Martin each went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Smith also scored a run while Martin scored two. Clemence also went 2-for-2 with a run scored.

The Aggies took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first before the Storm answered in the bottom of the second when
Kylee Webb was able to beat out a soft ground ball at first that allowed
Kendal Stockstill to score all the way from second.

Southern Nazarene took the lead in the bottom of the fourth when
Hope Martin drilled a double to left center to score two before she scored on a
Sam Smith Blooper to center field. The Storm opened the flood gates when
Hannah LeBeau laced a two-out, bases-loaded doubled that cleared the bases and put SNU up 7-1.

The Crimson Storm put it away in the fifth with two runs to score the run rule.
Alyssa Saenz drove in the first run with a bases-loaded single to third before Smith notched her second RBI bloop single to seal it.
